1Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the service:

  • Account Information: Name and email address provided during registration.
  • Resume Content: Resume files and extracted text you upload to the Resume Library.
  • Profile Data: AI-synthesized profile data including headline, skills, experience, and education derived from your resumes.
  • Usage Data: Search history, job results viewed, and application status updates.
  • Outcome Feedback: When you optionally respond to an in-app prompt asking whether you heard back after applying to a job, we store the outcome (e.g. 'No response', 'Interview', 'Offer'). This data is used in aggregate — never linked to your identity — to calibrate match-score accuracy across similar roles and seniority levels for all users.
  • Payment Information: Payment transactions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

2How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Job Marshal service:

  • To match your resume against live job postings and produce AI fit scores.
  • To synthesize a unified professional profile from your uploaded resumes.
  • To process payments and manage your credit balance.
  • To communicate with you about your account, security updates, and service changes.
  • To improve platform reliability and performance through aggregated, anonymized analytics.

3Resume Data

Your resume files are stored securely in Firebase Storage. Resume text is extracted and stored in Firestore solely for the purpose of job matching and profile synthesis. You may delete any resume at any time from the Resume Library page, and deleting your account removes all associated resume data.

4AI Processing

Your resume text and job descriptions are sent to Google Embeddings API, Gemini API, and Anthropic's Claude API for matching, scoring, and profile synthesis. This processing is governed by Google's and Anthropic's data processing terms. We do not share your identity with Google or Anthropic — only the text content required for the requested operation. AI-generated scores are for informational purposes and do not constitute employment advice.

5Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

Third-party vendors who assist us with hosting (Firebase/Google Cloud), payment processing (Stripe), and AI scoring (Anthropic). Each is bound by data processing agreements.

Legal Requirements

To comply with applicable laws, regulations, or valid legal processes such as a court order or government request.

Business Transfers

In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Never Sold

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes — ever.

6Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Authentication, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), HTTP-only session cookies, and server-side session management. No security system is perfect — we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access.

7Cookies

We use a single HTTP-only session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking, advertising, or third-party analytics cookies.

8Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account Settings page. Upon deletion, your resume files, search history, and profile data are permanently removed.

9Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Specifically:

  • Access or export your data by contacting us.
  • Correct inaccurate information directly within the app (Profile page).
  • Delete your account and all associated data from Account Settings.
  • Withdraw consent for AI processing by deleting your resumes.
  • Opt out of any non-essential communications.

10Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
